What is carbon steel pipe tee?
Carbon steel pipe tee is called pipe fitting tee which is usually used for connection place of pipelines. There are three openings in a tee, one is entrance opening, the other two are exit openings or one is exit opening two entrance openings. Generally carbon steel pipe tee is divided to two types, equal pipe tee and reduced pipe tee, for some special places “Y” shape of tees also to be adopted. They all play the roles to change the direction of fluid or connect three pipes.
Carbon steel equal pipe tee is one of the most popular pipe fitting tee which has three same diameters. And reduced pipe tee the diameters of main pipes are same the size of branch is smaller than main. “Y” tee can be both equal tee and reduced tee.
The production process of carbon steel equal pipe tee.
The production process of carbon steel equal pipe tee including two method, one is hydraulic expansion, the other one is hot-press forming.
1.The hydraulic expansion:
The hydraulic expansion of carbon steel equal tee is a forming process by which the axial compensation of metal material expands the branch pipe. The process is to use special hydraulic machine to inject liquid into the pipe blank which has same diameter with tee and to simultaneously press the two horizontal side cylinders of the hydraulic machine to press the pipe blank and the volume of the pipe blank becomes smaller after being squeezed, and the pipe blank is compressed. The liquid becomes smaller as the volume of the pipe blank becomes smaller, and when the pressure required for the expansion of the tee branch pipe is reached, the metal material flows along the cavity of the mold to expand the branch pipe under the double action of the liquid pressure in the side cylinder and the pipe blank.
2.Hot-press forming:
The carbon steel equal pipe tee is made through hot press forming is to press the pipe blank with a little larger diameter to about the diameter of the tee diameter, and to open a hole in the portion of the tension branch pipe. The pipe blank is heated and placed into the forming mold, and in the pipe blank put the die is loaded into the tensile branch pipe; the pipe blank is radially compressed under the action of pressure, and the metal flows toward the branch pipe during the radial compression process and forms a branch pipe under the drawing of the die. The entire process is formed by the radial compression of the pipe blank and the stretching process of the branch portion. Different from the hydraulic bulging tee, the metal of the hot-press forming tee branch pipe is compensated by the radial movement of the pipe blank, so it is also called the radial compensation process.
