What is A234 WPB welded steel pipe fittings?

WPB carbon steel is the most common material used in medium to high temperature pipelines.W for weldable, P for pressure, B for class B, minimum yield strength. Raw materials of ASTM A234 WPB steel pipe fittings can be from steel pipes, such as ASTM A106 Gr.B and C. Also from steel plates, such as ASTM A285 Gr.C, ASTM A516 Gr 70, ASTM A572, etc.

The chemical analysis:
The maximum grade of WPB pipe fittings made of steel pipe or steel plate C is not more than 0.35% .
The carbon content of forged parts is up to 0.35%, the silicon content is up to 0.35%, and there is no minimum value.
For each 0.01 reduction in carbon content, the maximum content of manganese increases by 0.06% and 1.35% respectively.
The total content of copper, nickel, niobium and molybdenum shall not exceed 1.00%.
Niobium + molybdenum shall not exceed 0.32%.
