3PE pipe is a kind of high-level anti-corrosive steel pipe. It consists of primer + glue + PE three-layer anti-corrosive structure. It has high corrosion resistance, high wear resistance and normal service life of about 30 years. The main reason is that its anti-corrosive coating is of good quality.
Processing methods of 3PE anti-corrosive steel pipe are generally divided into winding type and circular die cladding type. The three-layer structure polyethylene anti-corrosive coating (3PE) combines the excellent properties of melted epoxy powder coating and extruded polyethylene coating. It combines the inter facial and chemical properties of melted epoxy powder coating with the mechanical protection properties of extruded polyethylene coating, thus significantly improving their respective properties. Therefore, as an external protective layer of buried pipelines, it is very superior.
Composition of 3PE pipe coating:
1. First Layer: First Layer Epoxy Powder (FBE > 100um)
Melt epoxy powder bottom layer, polymer adhesive middle layer and polyethylene surface layer, in which the role of epoxy powder bottom layer is to form a continuous coating, bonding and curing with the surface of steel pipe to provide good adhesion, and has good chemical resistance and cathodic peeling resistance.
2. Layer 2: Layer 2 Adhesive (AD) 170-250um
The function of polymer adhesives is to fuse with epoxy powder coatings before they are cemented, and to bind with the outer polyethylene layer to make the three layers as a whole.
3. Layer 3: Polyethylene (PE) 2.5-3.7mm
Medium and high density polyethylene (polypropylene is used in some foreign countries) is generally used as the outermost layer. This three-layer anticorrosive structure combines the adhesion of epoxy powder, anticorrosive property, weatherability and mechanical damage resistance of polyethylene layer, and makes up for their shortcomings, thus greatly improving the service life of the coating.
Classification of 3PE pipe
1. Ordinary grade 3PE pipe: Coating thickness is generally 2.0-2.2mm
2. Reinforcement grade 3PE pipe: Coating thickness is 2.7-2.9 mm
Application of 3PE pipe:
1. Architectural categories include: more underground pipeline transportation, pumping groundwater when building, boiler hot water transportation and so on.
2. Machining, bearing sleeve, processing machinery accessories, etc.
3. Electrical category: gas transmission, hydroelectric fluid pipeline.
4. Antistatic tubes in wind power plants.
